Patent case against Apple by Motorola

Google acquired Motorola in 2012 for $12.5 billion along with more than 17,000 patents and was using the patents that were bought as part of the package to check its Competitor Apple in legal proceedings, but it did not work, with Google yet to win a significant case Apple iPhone.

Samsung and HTC

Samsung Fined $340 Thousands of Fake Online Comments Targeting HTC Mobiles, Taiwan's Fair Trade Commission make penalty of $340,000 for organizing an Internet campaign in violation of fair trade rules against the HTC Mobiles, praising the Samsung phones.

Samsung Fined by Apple

Samsung paid off 1.05 billion dollar judgment awarded to Apple in a patent case. 
The software patent case includes

  • A scrolling patent integral to actions like pinch-to-zoom, 
  • double tap to zoom etc. 
The design patents includes - 
  • Covering the front face of the iPhone
  • Back of the iPhone etc.
