What is CyanogenMod:-

It is open source firmware (embedded software) of Android Open Source Project (AOSP), allow you to deactivate some right access to apps like GPS, Contacts, SMS and user can customize things like the navigation bar, lock screen, status bar, etc. it's more flexible than "Stock" Android. 
CyanogenMod is based on the stock ROM with added original and third-party code. It is a greatly extended AOSP build without Google apps. It’s enhanced AOSP. Currently it has four active major versions: CyanogenMod 10 (Android 4.1), 10.1 (Android 4.2), 10.2 (Android 4.3) and 11 (Android 4.4).
