Huawei Honor 5C Review: Price Specs Pros and Cons

Honor the sub-brand of Huawei which is quite popular in India Especially in Budget segment, Recently launched Honor 5C (Also known as Huawei Honor 7 Lite in some countries)is kind of little modification in Honor 5X. This handset is equipped with Huawei’s own chipset HiSilicon. Phone also have some pretty decent features like Android v6.0 (Marshmallow), HiSilicon 2.0 GHz octa-core processor, 5.2 inches IPS display, 13 and 8 MP camera, 16 GB ROM, 128 GB SD card support, 2 GB RAM and 3000 mAh battery.

Design and Built Quality
As we already said this handset is reincarnation of Honor 5X with little modifications, full metallic Aircraft-grade aluminum-alloy body is appealing, design looks great in hands; phone has craggy backside which resist the phone from slipping from hand. Phone is curved fairly to make it adjustable while using with single hand. Fingerprint sensor is on the back and fingerprint sensor handset is only available for Asian countries. The buttons are placed on their typical place as power and volume buttons on the right, hybrid SIM tray on the left, Micro-USB port and speaker two grilles on the bottom, and 3.5mm jack on the top.
Full HD Display
The configuration of display is quite good; having Full HD 1080p resolutions with display density of 424ppi, the brightness level is pretty enough but still the colour production is bit dull, it may be bit struggling to see text and content in direct sunlight. There no issue with the screen you can peacefully watch your videos, play games but the vibrant colours are missing from the display. This may be also little disappointing that Huawei ignored any kind of special protection for the display like Corning Gorilla Glass.

Performance of the Phone
Load of performance is on the shoulder of Kirin 650 chipset with flagship FinFET plus 16 nm chip technology; Huawei claims HiSilicon Kirin 650 can deliver 65% increase in performance and 40% decrease in power consumption. However in practical world it’s really performing well in gaming as well as multitasking; this is mid range CPU so doesn’t expect too much but for the most of the tasks Honor 5C is able to deliver satisfactory performance.

Photography and Videography
Handset includes 13 MP rear camera with BSI sensor and 8 MP front camera with F2.0 aperture and 77° wide-angle lens; Both the camera are doing their job very nicely.  Camera can take all the pictures with natural colours and the performance of camera in lowlight is above average; where it is really praiseworthy. Some pictures in lowlight looks grainy but as we know phone doesn’t have OIS so it’s necessary to stable well before taking photos in lowlight otherwise pictures become little grainy.

Battery Backup
Phone has preinstalled 3000 mAh Compact battery design with 650 Wh/L energy density. Which along with power efficient Kirin 650 CPU decreases power consumption by 40%. However for a moderate user there is no need of charging phone twice in a single day.
