Premium built quality
The smartphone is constructed on the Aluminium metallic unibody with compact design, the gentle curves in the corner help in handling smartphone with ease. The side bezels are narrow, and it makes 71.5% screen-to-body ratio. The rear side has antenna bands towards the top and bottom adding the aesthetic value. The right edge of the phone is housing Speaker grille and power button. Left has Dual SIM card tray and a separate tray for the SD card along with volume buttons. On the bottom, there is a MicroUSB slot and 3.5mm audio jack.
Sharp 5.2 inches Display
Galaxy J5 has 5.2 inches Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 720p High definition resolutions. This configuration is enough to offer a decent vivid visual and it also has good sunlight legibility so you can operate in direct sunlight without any trouble. The front panel has 2.5D curved glass that enhances looks as well as gripping. It doesn't have LED Notification light so we are expecting the always on display but unfortunately, Samsung isn't providing this feature.

Both Camera featuring 13 MP Sensor
There is 13 MP Primary Camera sensor that takes just average photos and lacks in dynamic range although HDR Mode helps in taking the pictures with wide dynamic range however it's slow and has an issue of stability. Therefore its rear camera takes Ok type pictures. There is a different story with front camera although it has f/1.9 aperture and fixed focus and selfies come out with pleasant quality. There is also Flash for the front camera so you can take the photos in dark with your secondary camera.
An Average Processing Unit
The device is powered by the Exynos 7870 Octa processor clocked at 1.6 GHz. It is just mid-tier CPU, expecting the high-end performance will be unfair although it is capable of delivering a smooth user experience for day to day tasks. The pro version of J5 has 3GB RAM while the Galaxy J5 (2017) has 2 GB RAM which is a bit inadequate to operate the phone Smoothly. So, this handset is suitable if you are not so much on the side of high graphic demanding games/apps.
